Keiichiro Koyama Tries Slapstick Comedy for “Hello Goodbye”

Last Nov 5th, NEWS leader Keiichiro Koyama held his first performance for the stage play, “Hello Goodbye“, at Tokyo Globe Theater.

It has been two years since Koyama acted on stage and “Hello Goodbye” is he’s 1st stage play since NEWS has become four. “Everyone have gotten busy since we became four, I think that its a good thing,” he said with a smile when asked about the group’s present condition. “I hope they’ll come see the play,” Koyama added.

The play revolves around the wake of a famous novelist whom Koyama is the oldest son . Since the stage is usually busy with lots of slapstick comedy, Koyama works-out in his dressing room to increased his strength aside from the available oxygen cans backstage. “I had to bring my bench press and turned my dressing room to a training room so as not to lose to Masuda (Takahisa),” he revealed.

“Hello Goodbye” will continue at Tokyo Globe Theater until the 25th and it continue at Morinomiya Piloti Hall, Osaka from Nov 30th to Dec 3rd.
