Yamada Ryosuke, Hey! Say! First Solo Debut

Popular member of Hey! Say! JUMP, Yamada Ryosuke‘s solo debut has been decided.

Debut song “Mistery Virgin” will be the theme song of NTV’s drama SP “Kindaichi Case Files: Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case” where Yamada challenges the role of a high school detective. A song with a mysterious atmosphere, a drifting dance number and lyrics to match perfectly with the image of the drama.

Up until now he has performed in concerts alone and as a member of Hey! Say! JUMP, although he has shown his talent in singing and dancing before, this is the first time to perform an original solo song which will be released as a CD.

JUMP’s first attempt as solo artist, Yamada, “I’m glad I can do this in such a memorable occasion (60th Broadcasting Anniversary of NTV), though this has always been something in my dreams, I’m overjoyed”, he happily said.

Currently working in Tokyo Imperial Theater as part of the main cast of “JOHNNY’S World”, dedicated to commemorate Mr. Johnny Kitagawa (81) Guinness Certification Memorial. “I want to keep working hard and devoting myself as Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke”, he vowed.

His debut performance as solo artist will be held live in NTV’s music festival “Best Artist 2012″ to be broadcasted in November 28th (7PM). The single will be released in January 9th, 2013.

I'm not surprised for him getting a solo debut but I'm kinda surprised at how long it took, I thought they'd wait a bit longer or smth.

Watched him live the other day in JW and no doubt he's a great performer and puts so much passion on everything. I'm really excited for this but I don't get why some people think he's gonna leave JUMP. It's not the first time that a JE artist has a solo debut without leaving his group (except for Yamapi).
phangsang 17th-Nov-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
well it's Yamapi and Jin. and I have to ask (i'm relative new to JE) who else has had solo debut but hasn't left the group?

EDIT: to say i don't count Kinki Kids or T&T as they're duo, not a group. They're kind of part-time duo, part-time solo anyway IMO

as a NEWS fan my warning to JUMP fans is that the problem ISN'T him leaving the group - it's him staying in it. He's already got NYC on the side as well. So he could just be so busy that he won't have time for HSJ all that often.

NEWS originally was never intended to always need a full compliment of members to perform, until they were 6, and often didn't but they ALWAYS had Yamapi.

We ONLY got NEWS back once Yamapi left, if he'd stayed in the group we'd probably still be waiting for a new single.

If he's going to be the next Yamapi or Jin, the sooner he leaves and lets the rest of the group regroup and get on with it, the better. IMHO

I understand that. If both 3 (HSJ, NYC, Yamada) gets pushed all at the same time, sooner or later he won't make it and he'll need to choose. (although for KT's case, they never waited for Jin)

However, it will only be the case if Yamada's solo music career becomes a priority alongside HSJ. But seeing that HSJ gets tagged along his solo projects & HSJ SINGS for his drama theme songs (unlike Yamapi who sings his own), I guess the group will still be fine. We'll only know in the next few years, but at this time I think JE is hell bent on making Hey Say Jump big, reason why Yamada gets the push.

HSJ is more of a dance focused group, they can't have their best dancers leaving (Ryutaro already left), or else they'll revert back to singing lively songs and be a NEWS copycat.
