On November 21st it was revealed that Takizawa Hideaki (30) will be starring in NHK-BS Premium drama “Mayonaka no Panya-san” (Sundays 10PM). Set in a mysterious bakery that only opens at midnight, a smiling owner, a bad mouth but talented baker , a freeloader schoolgirl will create an exotic interaction drawing the attention of costumers.
Based on the novel of the same title by Onuma Noriko, a best-seller series that has sold over 500,000 copies. Takizawa will play an elite company employee turned into a baker apprentice. Producer Komatsu Masayo talked about Takizawa, “the encompassing smile he has cannot be imitated by anyone. He has built up recently so I think that’ll draw people’s attention too”.
Last drama Takizawa participated in was “Orthros no Inu” (TBS 2009). Also, he participated in an NHK drama back in 1999 Taiga drama “Genroku Ryoran”, 2005 “Yoshitsune” and 2008 “Yukinojo Henge”, so this is his first time starring an NHK drama set in a modern time. This drama will have 8 episodes in total.
Recording starts at the end of next month. Because Takizawa has no experience in the bakery department he has the commitment to receive guidance from a baker, “It’s been a long time since the last time I was in a drama, I want to work hard for each and every viewer”. “It will be a drama that will make everyone feel relieved. I’ll be showing a new Takizawa Hideaki, I’m really excited about it”.
