On November 26th, the winners of ‘VOGUE JAPAN Women of the Year 2012‘ attended an award ceremony in Tokyo.
The winners of the 8th awards included Maeda Atsuko, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Gouriki Ayame, Akiyoshi Toshiko, Icho Kaori, Ono Machiko, Kiyokawa Asami, Yamazaki Mari, Yuki Saori, and Yoshida Saori.
The award ceremony was held on an special stage outdoors in the rain. Despite the cold weather, Maeda smiled as she said, “As one human being, I will do my best to become a reliable woman.”
Gouriki expressed, “For me, it was a magazine for adults that I admired, so I’m happy to receive this wonderful award.” While rejoicing, Kyary said, “Ah, I’m sorry. I have to go to work,” and left the ceremony early to attend the press conference for the ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen‘.
Taking the trophy made by architect Shigematsu Shohei, Ono stated, “I would like to continue to do my best as an actress so that I don’t bring shame upon this wonderful award.” With an embarrassed grin, ‘Thermae Romae‘ manga artist Yamazaki Mari said, “I’m usually at my desk at home, so I never thought that a day would come when I would come out to a place like this.”
