Even with the anti-hallyu sentiment in Japan, Psy still ranked number 1 on YouTube Japan.

Japan internet news RBB Today revealed that Psy's "Gangnam Style" had ranked number 1 for most clicked video on YouTube Japan.

Also, Big Bang was seen on the chart at number 3 and Girls' Generation at number 8.

Last weekend I went to the All Night Nippon live in Yoyogi and the hosts, Hi-Hi, came out to Gangnam Style.

It took a moment to sink in, then to look around and see most of the people there going "Wtf." So I sang to it as loudly as I could.

daramji 21st-Dec-2012 03:44 am (UTC)
It's not charm per se....
visionfactory1 21st-Dec-2012 03:12 am (UTC)

Strange coz it wasn't popular physically or digitally. Physical I understand but why not digitally? I'm guessing the clicks came from curious people.

Also the "anti-hallyu" rumor thing is a load of BS. Its called decline in interest of trend, not anti-Hallyu.

It wasn't popular physically or digitally because it's still not been released in Japan!

that's cool
although I think that it's about curiosity for now
bu tit might be a good market for him and a nice trend in Japan.

I just saw kame dancing to it the other day..... Maybe after months and months Japan is finally catching on? Haha
kamelover101 22nd-Dec-2012 07:54 am (UTC)
Possibly. Call me maybe became a hit only after it had fizzled out in the rest of the world.
