On December 31st, rumors surfaced that singer Matsuura Aya (26) and w-inds. member Tachibana Keita (27) will be getting married.
According to sources, the couple has been spending their time going back and forth to each other’s places. Recently, they moved into a high-rise in Tokyo and have officially started living together. Sources say, “We can say that they are preparing to get married. They have already greeted each other’s parents which assumes marriage in the near future, and have gotten approvals.”
Tachibana made his debut with w-inds. in March of 2001 and Matsuura also made her singing debut in April of the same year. It’s said that they started dating shortly after their debuts. In 2005, a photo of Matsuura visiting Tachibana’s home was reported in a weekly tabloid magazine. Since then, their relationship have continued to be reported in tabloids.
It’s believed that their decision to marry lies in Matsuura’s physical condition and Tachibana’s music activities. Back in August of 2011, Matsuura announced her diagnosis with endometriosis and has been working to recover. In December that same year, she released her best album, “Matsuura Aya 10TH ANNIVERSARY BEST“, and put a close to her official Twitter account in April the following year.
With w-inds., Tachibana has been active in Asian countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Vietnam. This year, he will make his solo debut under KEITA with a new single in February.
Matsuura, who entered the entertainment business at the age of 14, has always wanted to get married at a young age. Other sources claim, “Tachibana has devotedly supported Matsuura during her rest, and his own solo debut was decided. Since Matsuura originally had strong hopes of getting married before 25, there are high possibilities that they will tie the knot before her 27th birthday in June.”
Regarding these reports, those associated with Matsuura commented, “We haven’t received any reports that she will be getting married.”
