Momoiro Clover Z sets their new goal

Idol group Momoiro Clover Z just made their long-cherished dream come true by appearing on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, appeared on “momocloTV” via Ustream which aired on January 1st starting on 8:10 am. During the show, the group revealed that their new goal would be to hold a live concert at the National Olympic Stadium.

On December 27th, Momoclo posted a banner on their official site that said “Big announcement on the New Year’s day” which caused an uproar among the fans, and also the girls appeared on the rehearsal for Kohaku wearing red T-shirts that said “Celebration • First appearance on Kohaku Uta Gassen, and now…” on its front, and “35.678067,139.714894″ on its back. With a hint given by a person concerned, it became clear that the mysterious numbers were the longitude and latitude for the stadium.

During the live streaming, Momoclo made rounds around their memorable places riding on an open top double-decker bus, and they made the final stop at the National Olympic Stadium. The leader, Momota Kanako said, “There were rumors that we would change our group name, or that Takagi Reni would leave the group, or even that we would be disbanding, but nothing of the sort! Momoclo can’t stop here. The Kohaku’s stage was just a passing point of our dream.” Then she stated to the fans who gathered there by foreseeing, “We declare to hold a live concert at this National Olympic Stadium in front of us, someday for sure.”, and received big cheers from the fans.

The National Olympic Stadium has a capacity of 60,000 ~ 70,000 which is more than the Tokyo Dome, and SMAP, DREAMS COME TRUE, Arashi, and L’Arc~en~Ciel are the only ones who have held a live concert there. The stadium will be dismantled during in July of 2014 ~ October of 2015, and start construction for the new stadium after that. It is planned that the new one will be completed in March of 2019. Therefore, they don’t have much time left before the rebuilding, as Momota said, “I’m not sure if we would be able to do it this year, or 5 years later, or when it would be.” However, the group is now aiming for a live concert at the stadium. If they reach the goal, they will be the youngest and first female idol group to hold a live concert there (at this moment).

Momoclo also announced that a member Ariyasu Momoka would not be able to do any utterance-activities including singing for a month starting on the 5th in order to get the treatment for her vocal cords. Ariyasu said, “I just won’t be able to utter a voice, so I will be participating in events somehow. Everybody, please watch over me.”

It was also announced that they were planning to release a new album in spring.

After going to hell :)) seriously, why don't people think about what they say before they actually say it?

There are more than hundreds of artist in Japan are dreaming about that spot, exclude themselves, there're many more girl idol groups having more success and popularity than them like Perfume or Morning Musume.

They don't even have chance to create a concert in 5 big domes ;)))))))

Keep dreaming :) people nowadays have such big mouths ;)))

There are not many more girl idol groups having more success, you could arguably say there are none outside of the AKS franchise.

Not a fan,but they got higher ratings than AKB in Kohaku.

Using lots of smiley faces doesn't keep you from sounding petty. MomoClo is actually really popular. It's funny that you said that Morning Musume is more successful and popular right now than MomoClo, considering that they weren't even invited to Kouhaku this year. MomoClo's latest single even outsold MoMusu's "Wakuteka Take a Chance" by like 20k copies or something.

I think it's rude to say that people have "big mouths" just because they're dreaming big and pushing themselves.

lol you know Momoclo is more popular than MM right

also they way their popularity is going they might have a chance but idk
they still have to wait years. plus kokuritsu is 1 artist per year so that'll be tough.

i never really got their popularity they seem so annoying to me, but i can honestly see then having a slight chance for kokuritsu.

If you don't include the 48 franchise groups, MomoClo are the most successful female idol group right now. And their sales increase with every single, and their album from 2011 consistently charted all throughout 2012.

At least, they should have done what MAX, SPEED, Pink Lady or Wink did in the past before they said that ;))

Can I count Four as "many"?
akuma1110 5th-Jan-2013 11:31 am (UTC)
And what does "AKS" mean? I don't really understand that part :-j
