Minegishi Minami to be demoted into Kenkyusei (Research Student)

Regarding AKB48's Minegishi Minami scandal by Shunkan Bunshun earlier, it seems that the management already find the solution.

From tgsk’s G+:

About the issue involved Minegishi Minami, which was reported by the weekly magazine released today, as for the punishment we have decided as followed, so we would like to report it to the fans.
今回の報道により、ファンの皆さまに多大なるご迷惑をかけた峯岸みなみを、2013年2月1日付でAKB48 研究生に降格処分とする。
We will demote Minegishi Minami, who had caused many troubles to the fans from this issue, into research student (kenkyuusei) as the punishment from February 1, 2013.
In addition, I will report about the future activities some other time as soon as the details are decided.
Once again, I want to apologize to the fans for the sudden anouncement. I’d like to thank you all for the supports to AKB48 in the future.

Seriously, it hurt so much to see Miichan in this condition. I think this is the first time she cut her hair. Well, congrats to Shunkan Bunshun for destroying her and Masuda Yuka's career in just a few months. And to think that Miichan is 1st generation member! T-T But at least she didn't graduate.... Miichan's fans, show your love to her in the next election!

Edit: Okay, I think this is too sweet to be ignored. 1st generation member (minus Kojima Haruna). Even Acchan's there! Apparently, Takamina also cut her hair (It is far more shorter than when she get haircut because her hair burned). Not sure about Acchan though, because I think she wear extension before, so I don't know her original hair length From Itano Tomomi's twitter

so what happened to the guy then?
yaoilicious_53 31st-Jan-2013 06:23 pm (UTC)
Nothing. GENERATIONS is not an idol group and the LDH agency isn't strict about dating rules.

I feel so bad for her i considered her one of the cute members.

Feel free to disagree or agree but i think one of the reasons the guys can get away is cuz we arent so crazy.sure there are plenty of girls who do the unthinkable.but vs the guys its more like wtf. i think this is also why guys idol groups tend to last longer than they dont really forgive the girl

of course this is different cuz the guy is not offering a dream his an artist not idol

The reason men get away with it is because Japan's entertainment industry is incredibly misogynistic and because feminist beliefs in the country appear to be non-existent.

I bet Alan is probably "wth did I get myself into I was just--"

Personally I don't think her new hairstyle is that bad since she has pretty nice features and an evenly shaped head. It's only a big deal when people make it a big deal.. Werk this style girl, and keep your chin up!

She's still so cute, isn't she? ♥

About Generations, I think this scandal affected them positively. Their second single was released yesterday and this scandal made many people know about them.

I know the meaning of cutting one's hair but I found it so extreme, especially for such reason.
This is just so sad

Too far.

I don't get the comments saying "why the guy wasn't punished,he should be punished as well".He isn't an idol,he doesn't have this shitty rule and nor him or her did anything wrong, why should he be punished?
missnothings 31st-Jan-2013 08:48 pm (UTC)
exactly. imo no one should be punished in this situation. the no dating ban is so stupid. Ugh.

Except the fact that she said it was her decision frees her management from any of the blame, even if they did influence her.

This is some right bullshit. These ridiculous rules catering to delusional fans need to be changed.

chifunii 31st-Jan-2013 09:10 pm (UTC)
Not an AKB fan, nor do I follow them, but I am aware of this non-dating rule they have. Even so, this video is unacceptable. Do they (the company or the fans) get joy out of watching these people ridiculed like this?

I couldn't even watch the whole's just awful.
alli07x3 31st-Jan-2013 09:10 pm (UTC)
i don't like akb but this is just horrible
yuma_daisuki 31st-Jan-2013 10:17 pm (UTC)

I'm not even a fan and I just feel the agency has done too much, poor girl D:
love_etcetera 31st-Jan-2013 10:18 pm (UTC)
Wow, what century it this again?
umbrellaphone 31st-Jan-2013 10:34 pm (UTC)
The mindset of the mass has to change first before agency does anything about the love ban rule. But I think the thing is, the whole existence of an idol is defined by that "pure" image. Basically they are getting paid to become that image, regardless of anything else. Honestly, they'd have to do-away with the whole idol concept and industry to rid the rule.

With that said, I believe she knew the risk of being an idol, so the agency obviously had to respond to it, because rules are rules. But I think the saddest part about this is that her action means she feels ashamed to that degree. I mean, all the other akb scandals, the girls didn't go that far.
