Minegishi Minami to be demoted into Kenkyusei (Research Student)

Regarding AKB48's Minegishi Minami scandal by Shunkan Bunshun earlier, it seems that the management already find the solution.

From tgsk’s G+:

About the issue involved Minegishi Minami, which was reported by the weekly magazine released today, as for the punishment we have decided as followed, so we would like to report it to the fans.
今回の報道により、ファンの皆さまに多大なるご迷惑をかけた峯岸みなみを、2013年2月1日付でAKB48 研究生に降格処分とする。
We will demote Minegishi Minami, who had caused many troubles to the fans from this issue, into research student (kenkyuusei) as the punishment from February 1, 2013.
In addition, I will report about the future activities some other time as soon as the details are decided.
Once again, I want to apologize to the fans for the sudden anouncement. I’d like to thank you all for the supports to AKB48 in the future.

Seriously, it hurt so much to see Miichan in this condition. I think this is the first time she cut her hair. Well, congrats to Shunkan Bunshun for destroying her and Masuda Yuka's career in just a few months. And to think that Miichan is 1st generation member! T-T But at least she didn't graduate.... Miichan's fans, show your love to her in the next election!

Edit: Okay, I think this is too sweet to be ignored. 1st generation member (minus Kojima Haruna). Even Acchan's there! Apparently, Takamina also cut her hair (It is far more shorter than when she get haircut because her hair burned). Not sure about Acchan though, because I think she wear extension before, so I don't know her original hair length From Itano Tomomi's twitter

I will support her no matter what happens: Miichan is such a brave girl, for face this and state she wants to redeem herself.

NTV has played this chick's apology video once every thirty minutes on Zip. They've now opened up Sukkiri with this video. This is ridiculous tbqh
lady_mercury 31st-Jan-2013 11:14 pm (UTC)
Well Sukkiri interviewed people on the street in front of the AKB48 theater and some comments were

" I would never shave my head "
" That's insane. That's going too far. "
" She should have just left and went on her own way. "
" AKB48 is really hard, but that's the path that (these girls) have taken. She should have just quit, quitting would have been easier. "

Even the people here in Japan think this is just way over the top. This is ridiculous. I don't even like AKB48 or the spin offs and I just think this is absolutely humiliating.

So I guess it was true. They wouldn't go to such lengths if it wasn't but wow I don't like them but this is
citrine047 31st-Jan-2013 11:43 pm (UTC)
i admire her strength , but she really didn't have to shave her head.

i've always known that Japanese fans are one of the most loyal, polite and enthusiastic fanbases ever, but really, are they also such stupid and immature creatures that agencies have to impose these ridiculous rules to idols just to ensure their 'bankability'?

for me, if you've decided to be a fan of any particular artist, the first thing to understand is they are human beings.

and really? an idol having a lovelife = causing trouble to fans/agency/family?? no wonder Japan's population is dwindling. (okay, that's exaggerated, but wtf, the rules they impose on these young girls aren't healthy either)

This really hurt my heart.

I feel worse for those kicked out of the group(s) for doing much less. Why couldn't they have been demoted instead? They could've done their own sycophantic move to get back on their fandom's good graces. Sorry if I feel that this whole thing is just a PR move.
gambareletsgo 1st-Feb-2013 01:24 am (UTC)
I believe quitting is much easier than being demoted.

Quitting means you are free from the business world.
You can start fresh. You have no more rules to follow.

Being demoted means that you are still in the business world.
You have even stricter rules to follow.
You have to work 100x harder to get back the position she was in.
She may never get there again.
You may lose a large amount of your fans.
You need to fight for their support again.
You lose the trust of the staff.
You must deal with all the harsh criticism.
You must deal with all the people that want you to leave.
Your image is ruined. You have to build that back up.

Miichan is my oshimen...but honestly I'd rather have her quit/graduate than be publicly humiliated like this.
taciturndream 1st-Feb-2013 01:24 am (UTC)
What I don't get is why they didn't try to cover it more. Were the pictures so obvious? I only saw one and she had all her face covered. Or couldn't they (AKB) go with "just friends" or something? I could be wrong but wasn't Yuko caught with similar pictures?
gambareletsgo 1st-Feb-2013 04:50 am (UTC)
Exactly! I'm so freakin PISSED that they didn't do anything to help her. Another members' "scandals" were dismissed, but Miichan's scandal ruined her career. There wasn't even enough evidence to make this a big story.
eishastan 1st-Feb-2013 02:19 am (UTC)
I've never liked her but seeing her in that video makes me rage... it's not fair, she even went as far as to shave her head wtf!! and i don't doubt wotas going crazy over the "scandal"
dalampasigan 1st-Feb-2013 02:42 am (UTC)
Not a fan either but srsly feeling sorry for the girl :/ Oh Japan, why always slut-shaming.
arashic5 1st-Feb-2013 04:03 am (UTC)
Ugh mii-chan why? The agency should defend their members more. Fuck the wotas
urubaby21 1st-Feb-2013 07:15 am (UTC)
I hate fans like that the most, they have serious personal issues if someone else's love life causes them so much disdain. I agree that she deserves some demotion because of breach of contract and all, but the fans that are so "troubled" and "hurt" by this need to STFU and deserve some kicks to the face. Sorry, but you will most likely NEVER EVER even be able to get in a 20 foot radius of your fav.
Excuse while I go break something.
akillarian 1st-Feb-2013 06:03 am (UTC)
I can't believe this is 2013. This took me back to those old fantasy Chinese movies where a women was forced to have her head shaved and walked the street in shame while people lined the street to throw garbage at her.

People can say all they want that she shaved her head by her own volition, but imagine yourself living in a stifling society and working in an environment where you felt shaving your head was the only way to show your remorse.
kodochalover 1st-Feb-2013 06:21 am (UTC)
Why does she have to carry all of the burden while the guy is just chill? :/
yurekka 1st-Feb-2013 06:21 am (UTC)
Shaving head is too far... Look she's crying, and it's an official apology? Is this part of entertainment? Ridiculous.
I feel sorry for AKB girls because their management can't be more responsible toward the girls.
If I was her fan I wouldn't want to see my idol crying because of such pressure on her.
It's the 'idol you can meet' concept that makes the wota think that they own their idol's life and career. They become too possessive toward the girls. :/
