First teaser released for Kiyoshi Kurosawa's "Real" starring Takeru Satoh and Haruka Ayase

Yahoo! Japan has the new teaser for Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s upcoming movie Real.

The teaser has a definite Inception vibe to it, which probably suits Kurosawa’s directing style.

The film is based on a novel by Rokuro Inui. Takeru Satoh and Haruka Ayase play lovers and former childhood friends Koichi and Atsumi. A year earlier, Atsumi attempted suicide and lapsed into a coma, but an advanced form of neurosurgery called “sensing” allows Koichi to connect with her mind in an attempt to find out why she wanted to die. When he finally makes contact with Atsumi, she tells him “I need to find a picture of a plesiosaur I drew as a child.” The picture becomes the key to unlocking a shared memory that will help bring their minds together.

“Real” will be released by Toho in Japan on June 1, 2013.
