You better don't watch other Youtube Videos with that song, they are full with comments of vkei ppl who are ~offended~ that she covered Hide's song this way. What do you think?
Paying homage? She ran it through a computer and then strip-teased to it. She should be ashamed of herself, that song is an amazing song and she pissed all over it.
Even though I hate this Koda version I don't mind her covering the song. She can cover whatever song she likes and if you don't like the result then don't listen. That's what I do. Simple as that.
I appreciate all forms of music. Jpop, rap, r&b, rock, whatever. That being said. I had no problem with Koda doing a cover of pink spider. Hide's original has a seriousness too it. I like to updated poppiness of the song, it fits today. The video is a different story to me. I felt like she could have captured the essence of pink spider ( even with the brothel storyline) but without all the glitz and glam. I know, I know, it wouldn't be Koda without that. However, if her team could have done an actual story, with a somewhat serious theme if they tried to capture the struggle, pain and the desired freedom of the brothel girls... I would have liked it more. Maybe that's asking for to much lol. I don't know. It could have still been koda but with an emotional standpoint of the girls involved. I got little to no emotion with the storyline (if my assumptions of the videos storyline are correct). Just my take on it. Still love koda though. Paragraph over lol.
I think Kuu did this cover in a way that really stood out for herself, being very Kuu-like and all. Putting all the Hide business aside, I actually quite enjoyed it.
I would've loved the song if it wasn't completely autotuned, it was so unnecessary and annoying, the video is pretty tho, Ninamika's use of color on every set is beautiful.
I definitely like the original better, but I don't abhor Koda's version. If there was less autotune, I'd probably even like it. The video is fun and pleasing to the eye. It's all very basic and glam. It would have been awesome if she took the concept a little more seriously, but you can't really ask much more of a pop star.
I like it. It wasn't what I was expecting but as someone who used to listen to hide's version a lot I think she brought a newness to it. Sure it's auto tuned and electro pop but I think it's great someone like Kuu went back into history and chose someone as important to Japanese music history as hide to cover.Getting mad and slut shaming and saying she's a disgrace doesn't do anything but make the fans of hide look ridiculous and obsessed tbh.
