Jin and Meisa in love and happily married despite career differences

As reported by Shukan Shincho,

On February 12th, Meisa appeared in a press conference for ongoing Taiga drama “Yae no Sakura” at the NHK broadcasting center. This is her first comeback drama after she gave birth to her daughter back in September, and she’s been participating in the filming for the drama starting on Feb 7th.  Meisa plays an important role opposite Ayase Haruka's character.  However, it's not a leading role.  So to have a media coverage of her appearance on the Taiga drama is really exceptional for NHK.

Meisa was due to start filming the series last December but NHK had to adjust the schedule so she can get back into shape after gaining weight from her pregnancy.   Since she was on maternity leave, she had gone back to her parents' home in Okinawa and returned to Tokyo at the end of November.   There was no way she could start filming in early December.  NHK had requested for Meisa for this role since December of 2011 before her marriage to Jin in February 2012.   And with her pregnancy, they had to adjust the schedule for her.  Takeko Nakano is an important role in the taiga drama.  She commanded a group of fighters and she is an expert in using naginata.   There was a scene in which Yae shoots a gun in the boshin war by the 1st  broadcast, Takeko Nakano was also going to appear in this scene.   So NHK had to change the script partially for Meisa to appear.

It's just to show that athough Meisa's role is not a leading role,  NHK is willing to make a press conference to announce her appearance and changing the script for her.  There seems to be hardly any criticism against her.  So Meisa's future work is very favorable.

As for Jin, he has not had any work for a year since their shotgun marriage last February.   And Jin is free to do whatever he wants in his daily life.  Before their marriage,  Jin was shooting for the movie 47 ronin starring Keanu Reeves.  But the movie has been delayed until December 2013.  At the end of last year,  Jin, Yamapi and Ryo were photographed by tabloids FRIDAY and Shukan Josei at Jin's brother birthday party in a club.  Johnny's Office was angry at the reunion of Akanishi Troop which further lead to Jin not having any work.  Now, the gap of income between Meisa and Jin is a big difference, and the gap is spreading steadily.  But what important is the direction of their marital relationship,   It has been said that since Jin is free, he's spending lots of time with his family.   Jin and Meisa were seen going shopping all happy and lovey-dovey.   Not having any work creates an ideal situation for Jin to devote his time to his wife and baby.

People were surprised at the change in Jin when an entertainment insider overheard Jin at a cafe in Daikanyama praising how amazing Meisa is in Yae no Sakura.  And how Jin is pleased with Meisa's activities.  It is surprising to see Jin is not jealous of Meisa's career.  The "old" Jin would be jealous for sure.   Is Jin thinking of retiring from the entertainment industry?

Why should be be jealous, there are many women ho earn more then their husbands.
His career is going nowhere so I think Jin being a stay at home dad is the best choice, if he would have been more successful then he could have maybe worked as a producer or a manager.
But it's a good think that they are happy.

and here we thought it was meisa whose going to fade into oblivion..
not that i don't think jin can't make a comeback, i hope he could..his talents shouldn't go to waste, i bet he's got lots of songs composed now..

at least jin's there with their child while meisa's currently busy with her career..its nice that at least one parent is available while their baby is growing up..

This sounds like cleverly-placed PR, but aww it'd be nice if it's true. Nothing wrong with Jin making the best of a bad situation, or with being a stay-at-home father.

Pointless article is pointless.
Pretty sure he's gonna make his come back once Johnny calms down anyway, and good for him.
Idk why everyone thinks they have to stop living once they get married or they have to change their whole life because they got married.

they have to change their whole life because they got married.

Women do it all the time in the entertainment business thought. Countless of stars have become stay-at-home moms after marriage. Maybe he wants to be there for the baby for the first years and then come back

Yes and it's not right.
They should have the choice, but they don't have it because of this sexist society.

And no I don't think it has anythikng to do with him wanting it or not wanting it, he doesn't work because he's punished for his thoughtless behaviour.

maybe Jin will be a stay-at-home father and Meisa will have a career, it's not uncommon for a woman to have the career and the man to stay at home! and maybe after a while, when Johnny isn't angry anymore, Jin can start singing again.. if he wants. Or maybe he just really wants to do something else, having a family now is very different so he can't just do whatever he wants anymore, he has to think of his family now, too!
but i'm very happy that they are happily married! im excited to see Meisa again too, i love her so much and i really hope she'll get more work again in the near future!

This statement is wrong:-

However, it's not a leading role. So to have a media coverage of her appearance on the Taiga drama is really exceptional for NHK.

It's normal for NHK to do press conference whenever key character on their taiga drama started filming, or to even introduce them. Takei Emi has that last with Taira, Ashida Mana the year before Gou. These two are not the lead, but NHK still do a press conference. This is one of the way for the network to keep the hype, since it's going to be a long year and you have to attract people to stay and watch.

The 'old' Jin, ahahaha. I love how the media thinks they've known Jin so well in the past and still know him now.

Glad to hear he's devoting all the time he has to his family! I thought he'd be the type! :D

ugh if the genders were reversed nobody would act like this a big thing. Women giving up their careers for the family, the same old, the same old.

If this it's true and Akanishi it's comfortable with her wife being the main breadwinner while he cares for the home and baby without feeling emasculated then I applaud him. Both roles are equally important.

If anything, I'm just glad to hear they are both doing well. It's nice.

I'm not a Jin fan but all I can wish for him is complete happiness!
But with a child there will be more responsibilities to come, so if this situation continues this will bring more stress to the marriage!

i love how these articles always assume the worst of the worst like retirement from the industry. XD as long as he's happy, it's okay. as long as meisa doesn't mind, it's okay. there's nothing wrong with a stay-at-home dad either. there are many of these as of recent.

but talk about gender roles. ugh...really?

It's good to hear that they are happy. Anyway, why should Jin be jealous? Work is work, and there's nothing wrong with women being the breadwinner of the family. On the other hand, I want to see the baby of these beautiful people.
