Arashi's Aiba Masaki (30) will be hosting his first solo variety show 『Aiba Manabu』 （Every Sunday 18：00） on Tv Asahi starting this April. This informative program allows viewers to learn together with Aiba regarding Japan's suprisingly undiscovered knowledge such as 「Things that should be praised」 and 「Ought to know Mechanism」 etc. Aiba commented enthusiastically that "I'm full of excitement! I want to experience a lot of things and convey it to everyone without any reserve", also declaring at the same time "to graduate from Aiba-Chan".
This spring, "Aiba-Chan" will be transformed from his energetic and natural airhead character to an intellectual and mature "Learning Aiba" persona.
The program will explore the charm of Japan in comparison to foreign countries, such as certain food that are often thought to be originated from foreign countries actually first rooted from Japan etc. Aiba who is capable of taking the same view point as viewers will challenge various things with his instinctive persistent spirit while learning about Japan's unexplored food culture, economy and cultural history.
Aiba appealed "In a complimentary way, i think that this program has a very free and wide range. As I'm the one hosting, probably it wouldn't be too difficult (laughs). I will work hard to make this an enjoying and fun program together with the capable staffs!"
To be entrusted with the time slot for Sunday's evening show has also sparked Aiba's motivation. "As there is school and work the next day, in comparison there is a higher probability for the whole family to be at home during that time zone. It was that way for me when i was still a student. It would be great if the things learned from this program would come up as a hot topic the next day at schools or workplaces."
