Japanese Woman Gets Plastic Surgery To Become A Living “French Doll”

Vanilla Chamu has said she intends to keep having surgeries until she has achieved her lifelong goal.

Photos of Vanilla Chamu prior to her first procedures reveal a rather mousy Japanese teenager whose facial features are virtually unrecognizable from the bizarre and undoubtedly more “western-looking” appearance that she now possesses.

Certain plastic surgery treatments, including double-eyelid surgery and nose jobs, are increasingly popular amongst Asian woman wishing to look more western.

Vanilla Chamu has unquestionably had those treatments, but her long list of procedures also includes liposuction, eyelash implants, dimple creation, and breast implants, reports BuzzFeed.

Still her current look isn’t enough for Vanilla Chamu in her quest to become a “perfect living French doll”.

The model has recently had even larger breast implants fitted and her next procedure promises to be her most extreme yet as she plans to undergo height lengthening surgery.

Vanilla Chamu underwent her first plastic surgery when she was 19 years old and keeps her current age a well-guarded secret.

Her unusual appearance undoubtedly makes her guaranteed to stand out in any crowd, but she does possess a very unusual view of what a French doll should look like.

With her inflated pout and fake breasts, Vanilla Chamu certainly doesn’t resemble a classic children’s toy, but she is undoubtedly her own creation.

Chamu surely isn't alone in her interest to become a living doll. She is part of a wider "Lolita" trend in Japan that has spread around the world, where teenage girls are seeking to appear like anime characters.

Venus Palermo and Ukranian model Valeria Lukyanova (who has been dubbed the most convincing living barbie doll) have also come under the spotlight. with some saying they are not real. Nonetheless, the trend to look like a doll seems to be spreading to all the continents.

Episode (features Anastasiya and Valeria I believe):

Wanting to look like a French Doll =/= Lolita. I hope people watch the interview with her. I felt bad because it seems like she grew up with low self-esteem and her parents weren't really there for her, so she based her look on a doll she had as a kid. She also paid for the surgery by working as a hostess.

Woah I know it's plastic surgery and all, but looking at those pictures of her I never would have thought any of those were the same girl :O

at first look i thought this is a story about 3 or 4 different girls or something.. =.="

i don't mind ppl getting a little but of surgery to fix their nose or something but too much surgeries will only harm them in the future...

she's pretty enough now, i'm just afraid if she do more surgeries she will look weird, you know..

I think she's already starting to look weird. :(

Maybe she should've stopped around pics two and three.

Too much of these can be be pretty creepy, you know. Just look at that 'Barbie' girl. I got scared when I first saw her pictures! But, I won't judge her as why she did this, but it could harm her good in the future.

btw, I might missed this.. but how old is she right now? If she's still in her 20's (or maybe earyly 30), her current look actually look far older than her real age!

EDIT: Oh, I saw it. Looks like she kept her current age a secret. But honestly, she look like someone in her mid 30-40's with her 'current' face. She's should be younger than that, I think ^^;

Height-lengthening surgery is very risky, plus I think it still have some ethical issue against it.
From what I saw in a documentary, it involves breaking your leg bones (with a surgery procedures) and putting in some device to prevent the break from.healing naturally, creating some gap in the break. the bones supposed to make new bones to fill the gap. It takes a long time and during the process patient cannot walk and mostly bed-ridden. And after the bones was formed, patient still need to do rehab to learn how to walk again. It will take at least a year.
In short, it's a nasty-long-procedure.

omg that sounds horrible!!!!! I can't really think too much about it because I'm feeling the blood is leaving my face ...

popular amongst Asian woman wishing to look more western.

Sad but true. All the pushes to certain conventional beauty standards.

Betting there's gonna be people saying 'it's her life, her choice' and all. Still, all I see is a woman on the risk of ruining herself physically. The more surgeries, the more side-effects in the future.

THIS!

Plus, I think it's kinda ironic when the western girls trying to look 'Japanese' or 'anime girls' while the one from Japan/Asian trying to look French/Italian/etc (just to name few). I had an urge to facepalming.

The shape of her nose is really weird. I get that she wanted height/length added to it, but it`s difficult to do and they didn`t do that great of a job. She has a face that looks like it was made through plastic surgery.

But she is modeling her ideal look after a doll, so whatever. Kind of sad, but she is free to do what she wants to her face.

That's completely messed up
a_cheshire_grin 5th-May-2013 10:35 am (UTC)
It's her body and she can do whatever she wants with it.

But I'll still never understand why women people do this kind of thing. I have no problem with plastic surgery. If you think you will be happier after it, go for it, but changing your whole appearance just to look like a living "French Doll" is just beyond my understanding.

Couldn't have said so better myself.

Nastya is still my favorite among all of these girls
liime_arix 5th-May-2013 02:14 pm (UTC)
Mine too, she's a sweetheart and I actually don't think she's gotten any if not a little work done.

And she has a heck of a versatile face (lana del rey make-up look)
marilena_r 5th-May-2013 11:17 am (UTC)
When we judge someone looking 'mousy' at first, who are we to make any comments about what she does afterwards to change this?
shroomko 5th-May-2013 01:55 pm (UTC)
+ a billion

I didn't watch the video yet but that part of the article made me squirm
pink_plushie 5th-May-2013 11:21 am (UTC)
Not my piece of cake, but it's her body and her right to do whatever she wants to do with it. However I fail to see how she looks even remotely like a porcelain doll...
annhh 5th-May-2013 11:46 am (UTC)
I don't believe this is one of those "her body, her decision, whatever" moments. This is like beyond normal enhancement. She basically plastic surgeoned herself a new race. The height surgery can't bring more than an inch and it's the most risky.

She looks nothing like she was. She must've hated her appearance more than she loved the french doll-look. All I'm saying is there's going overboard and there's bad self esteem.
