It's been revealed that Kanjani8 will be in charge of the theme song "King of Otoko!" for the movie 'Mogura no Uta' scheduled to hit theaters on February 15, 2014.
'Mogura no Uta' is a live-action film adaptation of Takahashi Noboru's popular manga that's currently being serialized in the manga magazine 'Weekly Big Comic Spirits'. It will be directed by Miike Takashi and the script will be written by Kudo Kankuro.
Ikuta Toma will play the protagonist 'Kikukawa Reiji', a police officer who graduated from the police academy with the lowest grade in history. The main cast will also consist of Naka Riisa, Yamada Takayuki, Kamiji Yusuke, Okamura Takashi, Tsutsumi Shinichi, Fukikoshi Mitsuru, Endo Kenichi, Minagawa Sarutoki, Osugi Ren, and Iwaki Kouichi.
The lyrics for "King of Otoko!" was written by Wakadanna. Kanjani8's Murakami Shingo commented, "This will be our first time singing a song that is so conscious about a man. Like real Japanese men, we wanted to express 'a man's spirit of pursuing dreams and protecting loved ones' in our way."
