Akanishi and Tanaka Rumored To Form A New Unit



According to a scoop by Tokyo-Sports, an undisclosed plan to former KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi(赤西仁) (29) who left Johnny's earlier this year has been exposed. The plan is to form a new unit with his former member mate Koki Tanaka(田中聖) who was fired from Johnny's in September of 2013. The project is being set in motion from behind the scenes.

Akanishi left Johnny's with the perspective of expanding his activities overseas but his major financial backers are only lukewarm to the idea. As per someone in the entertainment world familiar with the matter, the financial backers are more inclined to the idea for him to "form a unit".
As stated by a person in charged of the overseas export sales network, "I've heard about the plan about Akanishi and Tanaka but there's nothing concrete yet. If the two are interested in the idea, there's good chance that it will happen."
"Two years ago, as the penalty of his marriage to Meisa Kuraki(黒木メイサ), his nationwide tour was canceled and he was forced to drop a starring role for a drama series. That was the real reason why Akanishi was reluctant about domestic activities because the penalty left a bad taste in his mouth. He personally wanted to go aboard but the office didn't support the idea because they didn't think it would be profitable for them in the long term. It is said the reason for his resignation with Johnny's was due to the support from his financial backers."

It is said that the financial backers are not only acquainted with Akanishi but Tanaka as well, the plan to form a new unit with two former KAT-TUN seemed to have been formulated for quite some time.
The other day, Tanaka appeared in the limelight for the first time in a very long time at the "6th Okinawa International Film Festival". Previously, Tanaka stated on twitter that Jin is "his comrades that he had been through struggles with" when Akanishi left Johnny's at the end of February. It is definitely an interesting situation that the two ex-Johnny's are united together to form a unit.
However, according to someone from media with a deep relationship with Johnny's,"It is a well known fact that there's a possibility that the two could join up together."

That would be bad on so many levels... BUT! Akanishi wants to make hip hop and Koki's thing is rap so maybe they would meet somewhere? But weren't they constantly fighting?

I'm wondering if Akanishi made unit with Kamenashi, would they gather more financial support that A-T?

Still, I'm waiting for it out of pure curiosity.

This is so old news. I think I first heard about this even before Koki was fired from J&A and again after Jin left the jimusho. I honestly think this won't ever happen. KAT-TUN most troublesome ex (members) forming a unit? Yeah, right. I can only imagine them fighting again because their taste in music is so different from each other (tho, I think Koki kinda into hip hop too? But probably not Jin kind of hip hop?). I wouldn't put hope in this. And no, I don't wanna see this ever happening.

Jin: Our ways are very similar, like we were thinking the same.

Then there's Koki's tweets about Jin. This was intended as a private clarification but I don't see it as being offensive. It's just an analysis of words.

I'll be clear on what a JP speaker sees in Koki's tweets.
1) He used a form (-kureru) in saying "support him" that implies the person he wants to receive that action is part of his "uchi" (you know the famous "uchi no nakamaru" Kame uses). So, it's never translated but literally sounds "I wish you make me the favor to support him".

Jin was supposed to be outside Koki's "uchi" since 2010 so that -kureru sounds odd.

2) "tomo ni tatakattekita", literaly translates "came until now fighting together". Here: a） of course, the "together". then,　b) -kita implies it's an action started in the past and finished in the present or it is still going on (i.e. they never stopped fighting together and they are still fighting together). c) the kanji used to say "fight" is different from the normal "fight", it is normally used to indicate a deep and difficult fight not necessarily physical but especially mental.

3) He said Jin is his "comrade" -- literally, "brother in arms". And well... I was expecting his comrades or ex-comrades were the other four, honestly. It's a *very* strong word.

So, these are the nuances that are surely lost in translation.

There may have been more going on, beneath the surface, since Koki did have ties with 'Akanishi Troop'.

This will never happen. Never. Good luck getting Koki to give Akanishi the time of day, and he shouldn't. On top of that Koki has no interest in making hip-hop music. He was working on a lot of rock-type music last he had talked about what he was working on aside from the 'golden equation'. I think you should consider how things are translated, Koki never said he was great friends with Jin. He simply shot down all the tweets that were coming at him about Jin leaving JE and then dropped it. Because like when Jin was brought up at the Chain Tour press conference, Koki wanted nothing to do with the Jin conversation.
